Luísa Kurtz, soprano, has sung roles such as Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi); Ellie/Libellula (The Water Babies, P. Furlani), at Teatro Sociale di Rovigo-Italy; Zerlina (Don Giovanni), at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo-Brazil; The Governess (The Turn of the Screw, B. Britten), at Theatro São Pedro, in São Paulo-Brazil; Serpina (La Serva Padrona), in Malcesine(VR)-Italy; Antigone (Antigone, T. Traetta), at Teatro Traetta di Bitonto(BA)-Italy; Serafina (Il Campanello) at three different Brazilian theatres; Fiordiligi, at Theatro São Pedro, in Porto Alegre-Brazil; Gilda (Rigoletto), in Montreal-Canada; Berta (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), in a tour with Companhia Brasileira de Ópera (Brazilian Opera Company), which included theatres such as Palácio das Artes, Teatro Nacional and Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro; Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), at Theatro Sarmiento in San Juan-Argentina; Frasquita (Carmen), at Teatro Guaíra, in Curitiba-Brazil; and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), in Porto Alegre-Brazil. She has also sung in staged versions of Camina Burana, from C. Orff, in Porto Alegre-Brazil; Ein Sommernachtstraum, from F. Mendelssohn, in Campinas and Paulínea-Brazil; and Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda, from C. Monteverdi, at Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, Italy. Luísa has performed as a soloist in masterpieces such as Händel’s The Messiah; Messe Solennelle de Sainte Cécile, by Gounod; Ein deutsches Requiem, by Brahms;Oratorio de Noël, by Saint-Saëns and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, among others. Luísa has sung with conductors such as Yoram David, Carla Delfrate, Isaac Karabtchevsky, Javier Logioia Orbe, Karl Martin, Gianluca Martinenghi, Steven Mercurio, John Neschling, Stefano Romani, Alessandro Sangiorgi and Victor Hugo Toro. She has worked with stage directors including Pier Francesco Maestrini, Walter Neiva and Livia Sabag. Luísa has performed as a guest soloist in recitals and concerts with orchestras such as the Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre (Brazil), Orquesta Filarmónica de Montevideo (Uruguay), Orquestra Sinfônica do Paraná (Brazil), Orquestra Sinfônica Municipal de Campinas (Brazil), Orchestra del Conservatorio Antonio Buzzolla di Adria (Italy) and Benacus Chamber Orchestra (Italy); on stages such as the Auditorio Nacional Adela Reta of Montevideo (Uruguay), Teatro Comunale di Adria(RO)-Italy and Sala São Paulo (Brazil). Born in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil, Luísa began her musical studies with violin lessons in London, where she lived for four years during her childhood. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Voice from the Federal University of Pelotas Conservatory of Music (Brazil), where she graduated with Honorable Mention. In 2010 she moved to Italy to continue her vocal studies with soprano Luisa Giannini. Luísa has been awarded prizes in singing competitions in Italy and Argentina
